I have completed the LEED for New Construction version 2.2 reference guide.  The final section was super easy.  it is called Innovation and Design Process.  Here are the credits available:

  • IDc1:  Innovation in Design
  • IDc2:  LEED Accredited Professional

This section is pretty neat.  IDc1 is cool because it allows for technology and flexibility.  The intent of this credit to give projects that are pursuing certification a chance to earn credits that are not specifically addressed in the reference guides.  This is very necessary due the dynamic nature of sustainable construction and the technologies associated with it.

IDc2 is especially dear to me.  This is the credit that makes me feel like all of this studying was justified.  This credit is awarded for using a LEED AP on projects.

I am going to spend the next few weeks reviewing and taking practice tests in preparation for the LEED AP exam.  Hopefully, the next post I write updating my LEED AP status will be a copy of my certificate.

GreenWave Solutions painted our offices. They were punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. They are best paint contractors in Atlanta that we have ever used! They used the low odor products so we didn’t have to close the office while they worked. Next time we need painting, we are getting one bid – GreenWave Solutions
